ATTENTION JANUARY 2010 APPLICANTS!

The HOBET test is being discontinued at some college testing centers. If your college does not offer the HOBET test and you are located too far from Pierce College to take the test at our campus, please contact Shirley Bishop at: 253-964-6521 to have Pierce College testing center send the HOBET test to your college testing center for you to take it. Application deadlines still apply so please allow additional time if you need to exercise this option.

Congratulations! You are ready to apply for entrance into the Pierce College Dental Hygiene Program and join a proud group of dental hygiene graduates!

Before Applying:

Step 1:

If you have not already read Introduction, About the Program, and General Qualifications/Requirements for Application/Admittance, please read these before proceeding.

Step 2:

If you feel you can qualify to become a licensed Dental Hygienist, proceed to Application Steps. If you are still unsure about a career in the profession of dental hygiene, please call our Program Secretary for an appointment with a Dental Hygiene Advisor 253-964-6695.

NOTE: We recommend you complete the above process early in your prerequisite and Pre-dental Hygiene coursework.

Application steps:

Step 1:

Download the Dental Hygiene Application Packet Forms which include the Pierce College Admissions Form, Pierce College Dental Hygiene Course Plan, Observation Hours Form, Extracurricular Form, and the Criminal History Background Check Release Form.

Step 2:

Complete the Pierce College Admissions Form, the Dental Hygiene Course Plan Form, the Observation Hours Form, the Extracurricular Form and provide the original verification letters, and the Criminal History Background Check Release Form. Please be sure to sign in ALL designated areas. Ask for the Extracurricular Letters early as you will need them for the initial application packet!

Step 3:

Take and have HOBET test scores sent to Pierce College by the application deadline.

Step 4:

Request official transcripts from all colleges and have sent to Pierce College. Only official transcripts will be accepted. Hand carried official transcripts are accepted, but only if they are sealed with the college’s official stamp/seal. You may also opt to have them sent electronically by your college if that option is available.

Step 5:

Prepare a Check or Money Order in the amount of $40.00 for the Non-refundable Application Fee.

Step 6:

Mail ALL of the above REQUIRED documents in ONE packet. (Transcripts, however, are mailed or electronically submitted directly from college to college typically and should be indicated to go to the Admissions Office, not the Cashier's Office.)

NOTE: Application submission does not guarantee acceptance into our Program, nor do we have a wait-list for acceptance. Applicants must complete a full application each year they apply. Acceptance into the Program is based on multiple variables and it is highly competitive.

Your completed Application MUST BE RECEIVED NO LATER than:
January 22, 2009, 3:00 PM.

ALL Application Forms, College/University Official Transcripts* and HOBET scores must be sent/mailed to the exact address below. (* If the institution sends the official transcripts, they may send them "Attn: Admissions Office")
