Welcome to Foster Parent Education
Pierce College's Online Foster Parent Education Program provides training designed to help current and future caregivers succeed in their role with children in placement. Our goal is to provide training that is easily accessible and beneficial to care-givers of all walks of life. Bookmark this page and come back regularly!
There are presently 13 Foster Parent Education workshops- available online only. You must enroll in Foster Parent Skills Series-Online Learning prior to any other workshops (unless you have taken online courses before).
What Makes Our Program Unique?
- We have a variety of workshops available to meet the needs of foster parents and caregivers! Each online workshop provides six (6) training hours towards fulfilling state licensing requirements.
- Our workshops are completely interactive! We have actual instructors and students available to answer your questions.
- The program is flexible! You do not have to be logged in at a specific time each day. This means you can complete your workshop at times that are convenient for you!
- Certificates in Foster Parent Education tie into a transfer degree in Social Work. You can also sign up to do a special topics course, in which you will write a paper to receive college credit. For more information, please contact Denise Arnold.
