Web-Enhanced Courses
What is a Web-Enhanced Course?
These are courses where instructors teach in a normal classroom setting following one of the typical course schedules, but they have decided to use the online tools of our course management system (Angel => http://angel.pcd.edu). The online component enhances or supplements your scheduled classroom work with resources accessed via the Web. Many use them just like a regular Web site for handouts, while others have you do online homework assignments or have you interact with classmates outside of the campus classroom. They add an element of flexibility and convenience.
Where do I Login?
Your instructor will orient you to the use of the online classroom during your campus class time when they are ready to have you use it. We prepare your login account at the start of the quarter, so you can login at the Pierce Angel system whenever you like. However, your instructor may make their online classroom unavailable until they are ready to use it. You can try out your login about a week before classes begin to be sure you can get it to work!
Steps to Login
Read the information on the gateway screen telling you how the usernames and passwords are setup. If you want more step-by-step procedures, follow the links on the screen to the "Week Zero Tutorial". Notice we have provided links to some Help resources for common problems, too. Start with your instructor if you are having difficuties. They will contact us if they cannot resolve your issue. Your instructors will likely use this login procedures and preferences update handout (username, password, e-mail check, password, etc.) when they introduce the online materials at a class session.
