How Distance Learning works
Online Courses (WAOL, PCOL, O)
use a Web browser based courseware platform to create a rich virtual classroom online, with lectures, testing, discussions and all the benefits of Web page materials. Must have access to a computer connected to the Internet and be comfortable with modem and e-mail techniques. Read more . . .
Internet Courses (I)
use e-mail and Web pages via the Internet for correspondence and course materials. Students enrolling in these courses must have access to a computer connected to the Internet and be comfortable with modem and e-mail techniques.
Telecourses (T)
use video programs for instruction. Tapes may be checked out from the campus libraries for home viewing. Some programs are broadcast on KBTC television. The Distance Learning office also has a limited selection of course tapes available for lease at $30 for three months.
Multimedia Courses (M)
use a combination of media for instruction, such as supplemental video, e-mail, Internet, CD-ROM or correspondence.
