Budget ’06: FBI Counterspies Get Big Funding Bump

The FBI would receive another substantial budget bump in fiscal 2006, to $5.7 billion, if the budget request released Feb. 7 by the Bush administration is adopted. That is 9.3 percent over its 2004 budget, and $2.4 billion more than it received in fiscal 2001.

Homeland Security Community Connections Conference

The conference goal is to provide participants from community colleges around Washington State an opportunity to learn what each is doing in the emerging Homeland Security area and network with leaders in the field. Morning activities will include a keynote speaker, panel discussions, and presentations from Homeland Security experts. The afternoon will provide time for facilitated group work and exploring community partnerships and education and training opportunities. Lunch will be provided.
