ICS 300/400 Training/DEM Portal Training with Pierce County

Exercise Design Series
We will again be offering a Spring and Fall series of our Exercise
Design Classes. Exercise Design 101, 102, and 103 in consecutive months
and each builds on the previous class discussions.

PC-EOC Quarterly Liaison Training
We are also continuing our popular Quarterly Liaison meetings with our First Responder partners. Each quarter we get together to provide updated information about EOC activities, learnings from drill/activations, and allow for practice time with the technology.

ICS-100.SCa Introduction to ICS for Schools

The overall course goal is to promote school safety by familiarizing you with how ICS principles can be applied in school-based incidents and preparing you to interface with community response personnel.
G-775 EOC Management & Operations
Dates: Feb 25-27, 2009

This class will cover the role that EOCs have in overall multiagency coordination; the relationship between the EOC and the on-scence ICS structure; staffing, information, and equipment needs; and creating a test, training, and exercise plan for critical EOC operations. It is 1 of the 5 core required courses for the Advanced Professional Series program from FEMA. It is also a pre-requisite for the G-191 ICS/EOC Interface Train-the-Trainer class being offered in April. The flyer has a link to the Registration Form.

Provides guidelines and procedures for persons who may be called upon to make building inspections following an earthquake. This course provides familiarization with typical building constructino and technical aspects of structural safety evaluations.
G-191 ICS/EOC Interface Train-the-Trainer Course

The purpose of this train-the-trainer course is to create a state recognized instructor base for delivery of the G-191 ICS/EOC Interface workshop for local jurisdictions. The overall goal of the G-191 course is to enable participants to develop ICS/EOC interface implemenatino strategies or actin plans for their communities. G-775 (offered in February) is a pre-requisite, along with a variety of online independent study classes, and ICS-300/400.

This course is the next step in Pierce County's efforts to provide a strong Incident Command System training program. This class will provide training in the skills necessary to effectively plan for and manage large scale incidents. Center for Domestic Preparedness:
The Center for Domestic Preparedness, US Department of Homeland Security, is charged with training emergency responders: law enforcement, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, and others to deal with a terrorist attack involving WMD and incidents involving hazardous materials. Courses are available for state, local, and tribal responders from any of the following disciplines: Emergency Management, EMS, fire service, governmental administrative, hazardous materials personnel, health care (non-EMS), law enforcement, public health, public safety communication, public works, and other skilled support personnel that provide immediate support services during prevention, response, and recovery operations. All WMD courses at the CDP are fully funded by the DHS, Office of Grants and Training (travel, lodging, meals).
New Mexico Tech/Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center:
The Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center is known worldwide for its research and evaluation of explosive materials. Classes they offer include "Understanding and Planning for School Bomb Incidents" (online); "Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings"; "Prevention and Response to Suicide Bombing Incidents"; and "Managing Terrorist Bombing Incidents". They cover travel, lodging, and meals for the resident classes. EMRTC is located on the New Mexico Tech campus in Socorro, New Mexico. They cover costs for travel, lodging, and meals (meals paid up front but then reimbursed.)
Louisiana State University (LSU) (Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education):
http://www.ncbrt.lsu.edu/LSU provides training to law enforcement agencies and focuses its efforts on the delivery of the Emergency Response to Terrorism: Basic Concepts for Law Enforcement Course, and the development and delivery of the Emergency Response to Domestic Biological Incidents Course. Unsure if they cover any expenses.

U.S. Department of Energy's Nevada Test Site (National Exercise, Test, and Training Center) (NTS):
NTS conducts large scale field exercises using a wide range of live agent stimulants as well as explosives. NTS develops and delivers a Radiological/Nuclear Agents Course. Unsure if they cover any expenses.
Domestic Preparedness Campus:
The Texas Engineering Extention Service (TEEX), and National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center (NERRTC) are members of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium. Some online courses are available (such as medical effects from blast injuries and others). This link also connects you with TEEX and NERRTC for more advanced training. Unsure if they cover any expenses.
