Housing

Pierce College students usually live with carefully selected American host families or in apartments near the campus. We do not have an on-campus dormitory.

The cost to live with an American host family is $525 per month. This includes a completely furnished private room and three meals per day. Living with American hosts allows students to experience American culture first hand!

We recommend apartment living only for those students who plan to live here for at least six months. An apartment rents for between $550–700 per month, depending on its size, number of bedrooms, its condition, and so on. Two–bedroom apartments near the college, which students can share, rent for about $600 per month. In addition to the monthly rent, students also must pay for electricity, heat, telephone and so on; they also pay a security deposit at the time of rental.

Apartments in the United States usually come equipped with appliances (stove, refrigerator, heater) but they do not include beds, tables, chairs, telephones, televisions, linens, or kitchen utensils, so students who rent apartments also need to buy or rent these items.

At Pierce College, we work with two professional homestay companies that assist our students in finding a host family or an apartment. For complete information and to choose a company, visit:
