Conversation Partners
The English Conversation Partners Program pairs non-native English speakers with native English speakers for weekly conversation. The program provides a forum for international students to practice their spoken English and learn more about American culture.

"My experience with the conversation partners has been great. I could not ask for a better opportunity to help people, have fun, and make friends at the same time. I felt honored to help; it was cool feeling like a representative of the U.S." -- Resie Rogers (right, with Keiichi Yoshi)
Domestic students can develop a greater interest in the global community, a wider knowledge of the cultures which exist outside of American borders, and increased interest in academic opportunities like study-abroad programs and foreign language instruction.
An introduction social is held at the beginning of each quarter, at the end of the second week of the quarter. This is an opportunity for conversation partners to meet for the first time.
Participants must meet a minimum of one hour each week for the duration of the quarter. Students are assigned partners (generally in groups of two or three) for the quarter. The students arrange their own meeting times and places.
