Orientation
Orientation will get you off to a great start at Pierce College. And it's free! Orientation is required for all new international students, so check the academic calendar and be sure to attend. You'll meet new and continuing students and prepare for a successful experience in the US.
Orientation includes:
- Placement testing and academic advising - to be sure you take the right classes for your program of studies. Students in the Intensive English Program or those who have not submitted proof of English proficiency will take an IEP placement test upon arrival at Pierce College. College-level students will need to take placement tests in English, reading and math in order to register for the appropriate college-level classes
- Registration for classes
- Orientation to American life and culture
- Campus tour
- Visit to the international office - meet our staff
- Visits to local attractions
- Fun activities with other new students
