You
will need:
- PowerPoint
2000 (If you are working from your Pierce College office computer
and have Outlook, you probably also have this version of PowerPoint)
- You
need speakers and a sound card on your computer to play music
and sounds.

| Creating
Action Buttons |
 |
Create a Button |
| |
Click
on the Slide View button 
On
your menubar click on Slide Show > Action Buttons,
then choose a button style.

In
the slide window, click and drag to create a button.

Assign
Navigation |
| |
At
the Action Settings dialog box, click on the down arrow next to
"Next Slide" and choose an option of your choice.

Test
the Button
|
| |
Click
on the Slide Show button.
Then
click on the Navigation button. It should appear to depress and
then navigate to the object that you chose.

| Hyperlinking

Insert
Text or an Image |

Insert Text
Click
on the Slide View button 
On
the menubar click on View > Toolbars and be sure
that the Drawing option has a checkmark next to it.
On
your Drawing toolbar, click the Text Box button .
Click
inside the Slide view and type in whatever text you want.
Insert Image
On
the menubar click on Insert > Picture > From File.
Choose
the digital file you would like to insert and click Insert.

Turn
it into a Hyperlink. |

Either
highlight your text or click on the image to select it.
Click
on the Hyperlink button
and this window will appear...

On
the left hand side, choose where you want to the page to go (For
this example choose Existing File or Web Page).
Where
it says "Type the file or Web page name:", type
in the web page address. (Include the http:// part of it)
Click
OK.

Test
Your Hyperlink |

Click
on the Slide Show button.
Click
on the Hyperlinked word or image. It will launch your web
browser and open up the website you chose.
*note-
You can also make a hyperlinked object take you to another
page in your presentation, a different PowerPoint presentation,
a Word document, etc.
You
set those parameters in the Insert Hyperlink dialog box
(shown above).
