Tutorials - PowerPoint Presentations for Beginners

Print your notes and handouts
You can easily print handouts of your slide show in a variety of formats, as well as personal notes for each slide to aid you when you are speaking.

Printing handouts

After you have finished and saved your PowerPoint presentation you can print handouts for your students.

At the menubar click on File > Print. On the lower left side of the dialog box, click on the box that says Slides.

Choose Handouts.

To the right you will see an option to choose how many slides per page you would like. A popular choice for handouts is to choose 3, because it leaves room for students to take notes.

Click OK.

Add a title and page number to your handouts

At the menubar choose View > Master > Handout Master

Click on the word that says <header> and name it what you would like. You can also do this with the <date/time> box or the footer and number area at the bottom.

Go back up to File > Print and choose OK.

Print Your Notes

If you have been writing notes in the note section (by either using the Normal or Outline views), you can print these out to go with each individual slide.

At the menubar click on File > Print.

Where it says "Print What", click in the box and choose Note Pages.

Click OK.

It will then print out pages with each individual slide and notes.
