Connecting Your Camera


You can connect a digital camcorder or DV player directly to the computer using firewire technology.


 
  You will need:
  • A firewire cable (You can check one out from the Library)
  • A digital camcorder (You can check one out from the Library) or a DV player (located in the FS Lava Java)
  • A digital videotape (DV)
  • A firewire compatible computer (All Macs in the Lava Java are firewire compatible)

Connecting from Camera to Computer


Find the firewire output socket on your digital camcorder and plug the firewire into it.



Find the firewire input socket on the back of your computer and plug the other end of the firewire into it.




Turn your camera to VCR, Push the Play button and watch it on your computer. (See Importing Video Clips)
