Input Course Document
By clicking on your Control Panel in your Blackboard site, you can input your course syllabus, handouts, assignments, calendar, grades, and more.

Click on "Control Panel"

When you are in your Blackboard website, as an instructor you will see a Control Panel button on the lower left of the screen.

*Note - Only you as the instructor will have this button. Students do not have access to it.

Click on the "Page Editor" button

You will have several buttons to choose from. The Page Editor is where you will input your course content.

Click on the "Course Documents Editor" button

Click on the "Add Document" button

  • Start typing your own information:

You can either type in your course information, such as your handouts, or you can link an existing handout to this site. It may be easier to link an existing handout (see Option # 2 below)

Option #1- Type in your own information

    • Click "Add Document"

To type in your own information, click on the arrow next to the box that says Handout. It will display other options.

    • You can either choose one of these or choose "Other" and enter the text in the box below it.

    • In the big box that says "Enter Information Below", start typing your information.
    • Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Submit".

    Option #2-Upload your existing handout

    • Instead of typing in your own information, scroll down to section #2-Select Options, and where it says "Optional File Upload" and click the Browse button.
    • Locate where you have saved your handout, then click Open.
    • Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Submit".

If you chose option #2 your students will need to have the same software you used to create the handout (ie: Microsoft Word). To get around this, save your file as an HTML file before you upload it to Blackboard. Most current word document software allows you to save your work as HTML (or Web files).

View it as a student

  • At the top of the page, click "Return to Course"
  • Then click the "Course Documents" button
