Once inside Photoshop you basically have 'Hollywood in a Box'. You
can do a million or more things to your image. Of course you will
need to take some classes on how to do this or read some books. However
I can show you how to do THREE simple things:
SAVE FOR THE WEB
- In Photoshop go up to Image > Image Size
- Change the Resolution to 72 pixels per inch
- Change the Width to 6 inches
- Note - Be sure the 3 boxes at the bottom of the dialog box
have checkmarks.
- Click OK
- At the menu bar click on Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen
- At the menu bar again click on File > Save As
and save it to your desired destination as a jpg
file.
- It will then prompt you to compress it.....choose HIGH
then click OK

SAVE FOR POWERPOINT
- In essense you do the same thing you did in SAVE FOR THE WEB except
you save it as a larger image.
- In Photoshop go up to Image > Image Size
- Change the Resolution to 144 pixels per inch
- Change the Width to 10 inches or the Height
to 7.5 inches
- Let me explain....if your image is a vertical then you don't
want the height to be over 7.5 inches. If it is a horizontal
you don't want the width to be over 10 inches.
-

- For instance, if you have a vertical image and you set the
vertical to 7.5 inches...don't worry about the horizontal dimensions.
They will say in proportion.
- Note - Be sure the 3 boxes at the bottom of the dialog box
have checkmarks.
-
Click OK
- At the menu bar click on Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen
- At the menu bar again click on File > Save As
and save it to your desired destination as a jpg
file.
- It will then prompt you to compress it.....choose HIGH
then click OK

GO TO PRINT
- In Photoshop go to Image > Image Size
- Set the resolution at 240 pixels per inch
- Determine what size paper you will be printing
to and match up the Document Size as close to that
size paper as you can.
- For example if you are printing a horizontal picture to an
8X10 piece of photo paper then set your Width to 10 inches.
As long as your Height doesn't go over 8 inches all of your
picture will print. (If you height does go over 8 inches then
you need to set it for 8 inches and let your Width fall where
it may.)

- Click OK
- In Photoshop go to File > Page Setup and choose
Portrait or Landscape (depending
on if your image is horizontal or vertical)

Then Click OK
- In Photoshop, now go to File > Print and
choose the HP Color LaserJet 2500 PLC 6 color printer
and click OK.
Note- These are watered-down, simplified instructions designed
to just get you started. There are many more variables to image management.
