Who may use this service?
This service is intended for the students, faculty and staff of Pierce
College. If you are not affiliated with Pierce, please understand that
your request may take longer to answer, as our top priority is to answer
questions from Pierce College affiliates.
Who answers the questions?
Library faculty at Pierce College read and answer the e-mail sent to
this account. If you would like specific faculty members to answer your
e-mail, please contact them directly.

What to include in your e-mail question
With each question, you must include:

your telephone number
We can more accurately answer your question if you give us as much information
as possible, including:

Is the question for a specific class (class title and subject, instructor's
name)?

What are the assignment restrictions: do you need only books or only articles?
are you required to use scholarly journals and no popular magazines? how
long is the paper or speech?

What sources have you already consulted for this question (books, library
faculty, indexes, web sites)?

When is the assignment due?
What kinds of questions can be asked?
Any question you might ask at our reference desk can be asked using
this e-mail reference service, including...

Where should I begin to look for information on this topic?

I have looked in all the encyclopedias (or indexes or dictionaries); where
else might I look for my topic?
