About the District…

Boasting majestic views of the snow-capped Olympic mountains and Mt. Rainier, the Colleges offer employees the benefits of both rural and urban life in the Pacific Northwest.  We invite applications from qualified individuals interested in working within a diverse multi-cultural learner centered environment.

The Pierce College District has two community colleges and an extended learning program.  The District serves more than 13,000 students each quarter in greater Pierce County, Washington.

From where you are…to where you want to be.  Guided by five strategic directions that were developed within the College and communities it serves, Pierce College has embarked on an exciting journey.  Together, the faculty, staff and administration focus on the following strategic directions:

  1. Foster a learning-centered environment to serve its diverse students, staff and community through continual identification and assessment of learning needs for the 21st century;
  2. Act within an understanding of respect for the College as a dynamic, complex district serving the needs of its diverse communities;
  3. Implement continuous improvement processes that provide meaningful feedback to achieve excellence;
  4. Diversify and increase resources to provide quality programs and services, facilities, technology, and human resources to support its community of learners; and
  5. Create and nurture partnerships within the college district and throughout the communities we serve to maximize cultural, economic, and political strength.
