Associate Degree & Certificate

Pierce College offers the Accounting Degree and the Accounting Certificate at the Puyallup campus.

The program is designed to meet three basic needs:

  • Training for entry-level jobs in accounting requiring higher level skills than data-entry
  • Accounting coursework requirements for students who plan to transfer to four-year institutions and major in business
  • Providing support courses for other programs of Pierce College

The Accounting program teaches computer and analytical skills that will enhance student employability in for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.

Emphasizing practical applications, the program provides a solid understanding of basic accounting concepts and analytical procedures. The use of computers to process accounting data and to solve problems is an integral part of the program. Related business topics such as the legal aspects of business and human relations are also an important part of preparing the student for employment upon graduation.
