Self-advising

Register online without seeing an advisor: become self-advised!

Do you qualify for self-advising?

The following criteria are required for any student to become self-advising. Your advisor may add other criteria appropriate to your situation.

Your advisor is still a great resource!

Now that you're self-advising, you can still see your faculty advisor for help with goal-setting, educational plans, transfer information, or other academic concerns. Faculty advisors are here to help.

Becoming self-advised

If you meet the criteria, then you may complete a Self-Advising application. Download an application (PDF) or pick one up in the Advising Center. Return it to your faculty advisor by the third week of the quarter to become self-advised for the next quarter.

Your advisor will review your application and verify that all the criteria have been met.

You will receive the yellow copy of the form with the verification of your status. If you have been approved for self-advising, then you may register for the next quarter without meeting with your advisor.

Self-advised registration

You will receive your Registration Access Code by mail to register online. To register in person, follow normal registration procedures; no advisor signature is required.
