The Raiders took the field against South Puget Sound in a loser-out regional playoff game on Monday evening, and had two opponents to overcome; the Clippers and the rain. Unfortunately, Pierce lost on both accounts. SPSCC came out on the winning end with a 2-1 victory. Despite the weather, it was a well played game by both teams, and the Raiders had numerous chances to put the game away, but just couldnt put the ball in the back of the net. The Clippers scored first in the 11th minute of the contest. The Raiders JMaar Aina tied things up a minute later when the Raiders were awarded a penalty kick. The score remained tied until the 70th minute when the Clippers scored on a quick transition play that sealed the contest. Pierce had several chances late in the game, but could not convert.
The Raiders finished their season with a 4-10-2 record, advancing to the post-season for the second consecutive season. Head Coach Dan Hicker, in his first full season leading the program, is proud of his teams accomplishments and is already looking forward to next season. "Our record does not reflect the development of this team or the competitive level of our play. We are a young team with a lot of talent. All of our opponents knew that they were in for a tough day when they stepped on the pitch to play the Raiders. The reputation of Pierce College Soccer is getting better every day."

Boasting a 6-0 league record, the Raiders are tied for first place atop the Western Division with Green River Community College. The Raiders face the Gators this Wednesday at GRCC, with the winner staking claim to the 'Best in the West'. Second year head coach Paige Ellertson, who earned Co-Coach of the Year honors last season, has the Raiders playing outstanding volleyball. The Raiders have swept five of their first six matches, three games to none. The Raiders are well on their way to their second straight playoff appearance, and hope to win the West for the first time since the 2000 season.
The Men's Soccer team (3-4-1) just missed making the top 8 in their coaches poll, receiving the only votes for a non-ranked team. The Raider men also plan on a return trip to the post season this year.
