$thisCategory = "Men's Basketball" ?>Today is an exciting day at Pierce College as Head Coach Jeff N. Estis announced the college choices of four sophomores from the 2001-2002 men's basketball team.
Sophomore graduate and co-captain Josh Warren will attend California State University at Monterey Bay, an excellent academic school with a great basketball record. Warren will play for legendary coach Bill McClintock. Warren will be seeking a bachelor's degree in business.
Donnie Woods, 6′5 sophomore, heads to Montana Tech University in Butte to play at an up-and-coming NAIA Division I program under new Head Coach Mike Bauer. Woods chose Montana Tech over a number of schools across the country. Woods is expected to compete for instant playing time and help the Diggers accomplish a conference championship. Woods will major in business.
Demetrius Crosby, 6′3 sophomore, is headed to NCAA Division II Lander University in Greenwood, S. C. Lander, a member of the Peach Belt Conference, recently made the NCAA Elite Eight before losing to eventual champion Kentucky Wesleyan. Lander is coached by Roger "Chipper" Bagwell, a well-known alum of the school.
Crosby was an All-Conference player in the NWAACC and scored just under 1,000 points during his two-year career at Pierce. Crosby was also a 4A state champion in basketball at Foss High School. Demetrius will be seeking a bachelor's degree in business or physical therapy.
Finally, Dio Cadogan 6′5 sophomore, has been named a student-assistant coach for the men's basketball team at Pierce College for the upcoming season. Cadogan was a leader this past year starting in the post and working hard all year for the Raiders. The former player at Curtis High School in University Place will continue his studies and finish his associate's degree at Pierce.
