Pierce defeats Olympic in home opener

Pierce College Men's Basketball defeated Olympic Community College 99-96 in their home opener. The Raiders lead at the half 45-41 and were able to hold on late despite poor free throw shooting. Seth Davis finished the game with a double-double scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, Cory McJimson lead the Raiders with 25 shooting 12-19 from the field, and Olympic's Fred Grupe lead all scores with 35. "We played hard and were able to hang on and finish with a win. We have a lot of work to do, but we will take the win." said Interim Head Coach Jason Scales. The Raiders look to make it 2-0 against North Idaho Community College Sunday, December 1 at 3:00pm in the Lakewood Community Center.

National signing day at Pierce College

Seth Davis and Cory McJimson each signed a national letter of intent to receive a NCAA Division I scholarships to the University of Maryland Baltimore County. The UMBC Retrievers are located in Baltimore, Maryland are in the Northeastern Conference and regularly play top25 teams on the east coast. Terrance Troupe also signed a scholarship to attend NCAA Division II University of Hawaii at Hilo. Troupe joins the UHH Vulcan's who finished last season 18-9 in the Pacific West Conference. Davis and McJimson's signing is the first NCAA Division I signing in Pierce College's history.

Raiders qualify for NWAACC Championship Tournament

Pierce College Raider Volleyball defeated Green River Community College 3-0 on Friday, November 15 in the regional tie-breaker match to qualify for the NWAACC Conference Tournament. The tie break match was to determine the fourth entry from the Western Region into the NWAACC Conference Tournament. The Raiders of Pierce and Gators of Green River finished regular season play with records of 7-7, including a split of their league contests. Pierce now moves on to compete in the NWAACC Championship Tournament to be hosted by Spokane Community College on November 21, 22 & 23.
