The Raider Women began the 2003-2004 campaign with a hard fought victory on the road against Portland Community College, on Saturday, November 22, by a 74-70 margin. Trailing by 14 points early in the second half, the Raiders survived four players fouling out to earn the win. Corrine Berlen (Anchorage, AK) led a balanced scoring attack with 17 points, followed by Vanessa Caskey (Lincoln HS) with 16, and Karen Toulouse (Eatonville HS) and Kelly Thompson (Washington HS) each with 10. The win sets the Raiders on the right road to improving over last year's 1-25 record.

The Raiders opened their 2003-2004 season on the road with a convincing win over the Whatcom Orcas, 83-61. Great hustle and defense was the order of the day as the Raiders held the Orcas to 23 points in the second half. Ryan Reynolds led all scorers with 21 points, as 5 Raiders scored in double figures. Devon Conner-Green and Clem Benton tallied 11 points, while Tremaine Curry and Jacob Mitchell added 10 each. A good start to the season as it looks like the Runnin’ Raiders should supply much excitement in the season ahead.
