Ellertson-Tisserand's distinguished record includes coaching and teaching at a high-performance volleyball camp in New Jersey and the World Volleyball Camp in New York.
Her own athletic achievements are equally impressive. She served as team captain for the Seton Hall University varsity volleyball team for two years and was named the university's Student Athlete of the Year in 2002. She received a full-ride athletic scholarship to Seton Hall, was a Verizon District II Academic All-American and a Big East Academic All-Star.
Ellertson-Tisserand holds a master's degree in German and Slavic Literatures and Languages from University of Colorado at Boulder, and graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's in political science and English from Seton Hall University, South Orange, N.J. She tutors at Pierce's Writers' Center, and said she wants to be able to assist student athletes to succeed across a broad spectrum of academic and athletic endeavors.
"I am deeply committed to helping volleyball players improve not only their skills, but their grades and academic standings as well," she said.

The Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges released the regional all star teams for the 2005 Spring seasons, and the Raiders were well represented.
Three members of the Baseball team were chosen as NWAACC Western Region Second Team All Stars. They include sophomore infielder Vince Maughan, sophomore outfielder Ryan Johannes, and freshman utility player Lance Palady. Maughan led the Raiders in four offensive categories; at bats (139), runs scored (21), hits (38), and stolen bases (10), and was the cornerstone of the infield at third base. Johannes, the power threat in the middle of the Pierce line up, led the team in doubles (9), triples (2), home runs (2), and runs batted in (15). Palady, a walk-on freshman, had the team's leading batting average (.303) and came through with many clutch hits. The three all star selections are the best showing by the Raiders in four years.
The Raider Softball team had two stellar freshman who were recognized for their accomplishments this year. Centerfielder Nicole Neeley was selected as a South Division First Team All Star, while teammate Yukari Kuranuki was chosen as a Second Team All Star. Neeley, a mother of two, hit for a .366 average, and led the Raiders in several offensive categories, including; at bats (112), runs scored (24), and hits (41). Kuranuki, an exchange student from Japan, played several positions this year, and led the team in average (.375), doubles (8), triples (2), home runs (2), and runs batted in (21). Neeley's First Team selection was the first such recognition for a Raider in eight years.
