Orion Jones has been selected as the new head coach of the Raider Baseball program. Jones, a Port Angeles native, returns to the Northwest after a two year stint as the head assistant coach at Missouri Valley College. MVC is a member of the Heart of America Athletic Conference, one of the toughest small 4-year college conferences in the country.
Jones is a product of the NWAACC, having played one year at Green River ('95-'96), and one year at Olympic ('96-'97). He continued his collegiate experience at Central Washington University where he played two seasons under Coach Desi Storey ('98-'00), earning his Bachelor's in Business Administration in 2000. Jones recently received his Master's in Management from Missouri Valley College.
"I am very excited to return to the Northwest and take over the head coaching duties of the Raiders. We have a great group of players returning from last season, and my goal is to put Pierce Baseball back on the map in the NWAACC, one of the top community college conferences in the country."
Coach Jones brings a "back-to-basics" philosophy to the program, that centers around hard work, respect, and commitment. His student-athletes will be successful on the field and in the classroom, and will leave the program as better men.
