2006 Soccer Season Outlook

August 22, 2006 @ 9:05 am

"A step in a new direction"

The 2006 edition of Raiders Soccer promises to bring an exciting level of play to the field this season. In hopes of capturing another piece of history, the Raiders will look to make another run at the NWAACC title this year.

In fact, a new chapter in the history of Pierce College Athletics has already been made as the Men's Soccer program begins its first year as a Puyallup based program and will now train and play at the newly developed Heritage Recreation Center. The new facility will support the needs of the players as well as support the demands of a college soccer program.

Raiders Soccer will be the first college sport ever to be supported in Puyallup and with its presence promises to introduce a new base of strong community support.

The recent decision to move the program to Puyallup has brought some exciting changes. The move has captured the interest of many talented local student-athletes, and with only 7 returning sophomores there will be many new faces to keep an eye on this year.

Entering his first full season, Head Coach Dan Hicker plans to build a program that is recognized for its competitive level of play and talented pool of players. Team chemistry and a new structure look to be major focuses this season as the Raiders introduce a team that competes with a higher standard and an increased passion for the game.

Be sure to check out the new-look 2006 Raiders Men's Soccer team as they take the field in Puyallup and take a new step for the future.
