Raiders Soccer won their second consecutive match yesterday on the road against North Division leader Shoreline Community College, by a score of 2-1. The Raiders dominated the match going ahead 2-0 after 45 minutes of play. Phil Munoz and Justin Morrow scored the goals both assisted by midfielder Brandon Cummings. Good communication and speed of play by the Raiders kept Shoreline on there heels for the duration of the match. Shoreline was able to put the ball in the back of the net just once in the second half bringing the final score to 2-1. The Raiders have been getting positive results through their aggressive play and have been increasing their level of performance on the field.
“As a team we are coming together very well. This win was huge for us. The connections between the midfield and forwards were tremendous, and defensively we have been solid. At this point it is about taking it day by day with trainings and games and continuing to build our game”.
Be sure to check out the Raiders home matches this weekend as they take on Everett Friday at 4pm, and Skagit Valley Saturday at 2pm. Both home matches will be at Heritage Recreation Center in Puyallup.

The Raiders played a high intensity match at their home opener this Tuesday in Puyallup. From the first whistle the Raiders level of play and intensity forced the Whatcom Orcas to stay on their toes for 90 minutes of play. Good ball movement and physical play created many opportunities for the Raiders, but they were unable to capitalize on their efforts. An unfortunate early first half penalty kick and a late first half goal by the Orcas saw the Raiders trailing 2-0 at half time. Pierce maintained the high level of play throughout the second half, but were unable to convert on several scoring opportunities, losing by a final tally of 2-0.
"Our level of play has been increasingly moving up the ladder with each game we play. We are extremely fit and these boys have a lot of heart and talent to bring to the pitch. Whatcom is a strong side, probably one of the top competitors of our season. Regardless of the result, today showed a lot of what this team has to offer." –Head Coach Dan Hicker
The Raiders take the road this weekend as they travel to play Skagit Valley on Friday, 5pm and Everett on Saturday, 2pm.
Next home match: September 22nd 4pm.
