Day 2 results at the Raiders Invitational Tournament

Day 2 action at the Raiders Invitational Tournament produced three one-sided victories, two in the consolation bracket and one in the winners bracket. Big Bend defeated Tacoma in a loser-out game, 83-59. The Vikings were led by Megan Howertons 24 points and 7 rebounds, followed Alex Canfield with 20 points. Megan Block led the way for the Titans with 13 points. In the other loser-out game, the host Raiders beat Grays Harbor, 66-35. Chayniece Johnson led a balanced Raiders effort with 18 points, followed by Brittany Sebastian with 11 points and 6 steals.
In the winners bracket, Skagit Valley beat up on Shoreline, taking a 66-41 victory. Balanced scoring was the answer for the Cardinals, as Brittany Janz and Keri Arendse each had 12. The Dolphins Kierra Harrison had a game-high 17 points, followed by Phelisa Reynolds with 12. In the final game of the day, Peninsula defeated Olympic 62-49. Sam Flett had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Pirates, as teammate Brittany Bridges had 13 points and 15 rebounds. The Rangers were led by Shayvonne Barretts 21 points and Colby Thatchers tournament high 17 rebounds.
Sundays schedule of games are as follows: Big Bend and Pierce (11 am), Shoreline and Olympic (1 pm), and Skagit Valley and Peninsula will play for the tournament championship at 3 pm.

Raiders Invitational Opening Day results

The Raiders Womens Basketball Inaugural Invitational Tournament opened with some great first day action, with all four games swept by the Northern Region. In the opener, Shoreline defeated Tacoma, 67-57. The Dolphins were led by Kylie Williams 18 points, with Ashley Flemming contributing 10 points and 15 rebounds. The Titans were led by Megan Blocks 20 points, and Kalasa Taumaletias 13 points and 9 steals. In game 2, Skagit Valley edged out Big Bend by 2, 56-54. Lero Arendse led the way for the Cardinals with 14, followed by Brittany Janzs 10. The Vikings Angela Fales and Sarah Smith each tossed in 11. In the third game of the day, the Olympic Rangers beat the Grays Harbor Chokers, 59-49. Colby Thatcher led the way for the Rangers with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Megan Morris chipped in 14 for Olympic. The short-handed Chokers, with only 6 players, were led by Brittany McKinneys 19 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 steals. In the nightcap game, Peninsula defeated the hosts from Pierce. The Pirates were led by Britney Yamane with 23 points and 7 rebounds. Sam Flett supported Yamanes effort with 11 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, and 7 steals. The Raiders were led by Kaylah Scotts 15 points, and Chayniece Johnsons 12.
Game times and match ups for day 2 of the tournament are; Tacoma and Big Bend at 1 pm, Grays Harbor and Pierce at 3 pm, Shoreline and Skagit Valley at 5 pm, and, Olympic and Peninsula at 7 pm.
Game times on Sunday are 11 am, 1 pm, and the championship game at 3 pm.
