2010-11 Soccer Team

Season Outlook

Head Coach Bill Pearson begins his fourth year with the Raiders with sites set high for a productive 2011 season. Only 3 sophomores return from last year’s squad that took 3rd Place in the Southern Region, and made the NWAACC playoffs for the third time in four seasons. This year’s squad will rely heavily on a very talented group of freshmen to put the Raiders back in the post come November. Early reviews tout the 2011 squad as one of the most talented in the past 5 years.

The Raiders will be led offensively by forwards Cory McClellan (Emerald Ridge HS), Kyle Millsap (Emerald Ridge), and Aram Khamenehi (Steilacoom HS). In the midfield, Coach Pearson will look to the leadership of sophomore midfielder and Tyler Decker (Auburn Mountainview), along with newcomers Edgar Zepeda (Fife), and Jonathan Rodriguez (Mt. Tahoma), and Taylor Caluwe (Steilacoom) to anchor the Raiders upfield. Defensively the Raiders will be anchored by Joel Dressler (Franklin Pierce), Justin Flint (Auburn Mountainview), and Nick Thomas (Bonney Lake). Goalkeepers Alex Hall (Bonney Lake) and Cameron Langeridge (Federal Way) will split time in the net for the Raiders.

Coach Pearson is fortunate to have a very deep bench, and feels that all of his players are potential starters, and will all see significant playing time. A balanced roster, a quick team in transition, an explosive offense, and rock solid defense, should prove to be the winning ticket for a trip to the NWAACC Tournament in November!
