Bill Pearson

Head Coach, 1st Year

Bill Pearson begins his second first year as head coach for the Raiders men’s soccer program with an all freshmen squad and high hopes for a great season.

Pearsons Raiders missed the playoffs in the Fall 2008 campaign by one point in the final standings, and look to be solid contenders in the always tough Southern Division of the NWAACC.  He will continue to focus on the success and development of the student-athletes in the program and towards their advancement to higher levels of play.
Pearson brings with him over 14 years of coaching experience, spending most of this time within the South Hill Soccer Club (Puyallup). He has a wealth of experience coaching both boys and girls youth programs. One of Pearsons past players includes former Raider and current assistant coach Chris Hanson. Prior to coming to Pierce, he was the coordinator and head coach of the girls 93 Umbrella program which has helped develop some of the top talent within the club and soccer community in the South Puget Sound region. Pearson holds his USSF "B" National License.

A Puyallup native, Pearson graduated from Rogers High School. He currently resides in Puyallup with his wife Tonya and son Jason.

Jared Kay

Assistant Coach, 1st Year

Coach Kay enters his first year as a member of the Pierce College coaching staff, and is excited to join the Raiders for the 2009 season.

Soccer has always been major part of Jared’s life. During his playing days Jared was voted team captain and led his team in goals scored. After High School, Jared went on to Ricks College in South Eastern Idaho where he played club soccer. Jared later finished his education at Washington State University. Jared took the opportunity to be a head coach in the South Hill Soccer Club in 2005 where he led his team to the state championship game in his second year. As a coach in the Revolution program, Jared was introduced to then Coordinator and Head Coach Bill Pearson. They coached together for two years and are now back coaching together here at Pierce College. Jared’s coaching philosophy is centered on the fact that how we play the game translates directly to how we live our lives.

Jared has a wife and four children that occupy his time when he is not on the pitch.
