Head Coach Paige Ellertson

Head Coach Ellertson-Tisserand

Paige Ellertson Tisserand enters her third season as the Raider Volleyball head Coach. Last season, E. Tisserand and her team shared many successes, most notable among them was qualifying for the NWAACC tournament and being voted midseason to be an NWAACC ranked team. Additionally, Kanoe Kalalau, Captain of the 06-07 Squad, was named to the Western Division First Team, and freshmen Jazmine Silafau and Kristi Alcorn, were named to the Western Division Second Team, and all three sophomores, Robyn Barnard, Kanoe Kalalau, and Colleen Pancake, were named to the Western Division Sophomore All-Star Team.

E. Tisserand is looking forward to an exciting 2007-2008 season in the brand new Pierce College Health Education Center. She is very excited about her freshman recruits, and believes that the incoming athletes and her sophomore returners have great potential to continue to improve upon the team's positive reputation and standing.

Ellertson received a full-ride athletic scholarship to play volleyball at Division I Seton Hall University. She served as the team captain of the squad for two years and was named the university's Student Athlete of the Year in 2002. She was a Verizon District II Academic All-American and was awarded an NCAA Post-Graduate scholarship, which she used to earn her Masters Degree in German from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is married and has a German Shorthair Pointer, who serves as the team's unofficial mascot.

Amanda Stewart

Coach Stewart

Coach Amanda Stewart returns for her second year with the Raiders. She brings with her a very solid knowledge of the game, specializing in the training and development of middle blockers. A high school volleyball and basketball standout, Stewart received a scholarship from Walla Walla Community College's Women's Basketball Team. Her sophomore year, her team won the NWAACC Conference Championship. Since College, Stewart has continued to study physical fitness, and her focus on training and strength will be very helpful to the Raider women. Stewart is married and works as an RN.

Colleen Pancake

Assistant Pancake

Graduate Assistant Colleen Pancake returns to the Raider Volleyball Team after completing her sophomore year at Pierce. Pancake earned Sophomore All Star honors and Western Division Defensive Player of the Week while at Pierce, and additionally was named to the NWAACC All-Academic Team. A standout libero, Pancake will be a significant contributor in the development of defensive players and in teaching serve receive technique. Since finishing her career at Pierce, Pancake has coached a 16's team for the Above the Net volleyball club and is always looking for more ways to promote and be involved in the sport of volleyball. She is also continuing her education at the University of Washington, where she is pursuing a degree in Education.
