Volleyball Season Outlook
The 2007 Raider Volleyball women are looking forward to improving upon the great season they enjoyed last year. In 2006, the Raiders earned an NWAACC Tournament position, had a Western Division Defensive Player of the Week, a Western Division First Team Selection, two western Division Second Team selections, 3 Sophomore All-Star Selection, and were a ranked NWAAC team for much of the season.
The Pierce College Women's Volleyball Team features many new faces this year. The Raiders add seven incoming freshmen - Lotty Carlson, Chelsea Gandy, Rachel Hansen, Brittney Leckenby, Cami Medlock, Ashley Sonneman, and Laura Struck, - to their three returning players - Kristi Alcorn, Jessica Aldrich, and Sara Cusato. The incoming talent and dedication, coupled with the returners' leadership and understanding of the game and techniques, will make Pierce an exciting team to watch. Always focused on bettering itself, the Raider Squad hopes to learn from the many lessons of last year and once again earn an NWAACC playoff berth, as well as improve in both the Western Division and NWAACC standings.
Coaches E.Tisserand, Stewart, and Pancake have very high hopes for this year's team. They feel honored to work with this group of talented athletes and are excited to see where their hard work and team focus will take them. Additionally, the coaching staff will work very hard to help the Raiders realize their full athletic and academic potential, making them more competitive both on the court and in the classroom.
