If you encounter glitches or have comments about the book exchange program, contact Elaine Nelson, district Web manager at enelson at pierce dot ctc dot edu. Specific error messages are always helpful!
Searching
A search form is located on the Book Exchange home page and on the Find Books page. You can search by ISBN, title, author, department/course or by the seller's handle. Consider searching by ISBN first as this is the most accurate method.
Registering to list your books
To register, go to the New User page, and fill out the form. Write down your password and username in a safe place.
Adding listings
To add a listing you must be a registered user. Login and go to Post Books, then fill out the "New Listing" form. The ISBN is a 10 or 13 digit code that is usually found on the back of your book.
Changing or removing listings
To remove or edit a listing login and go to My Books.
About the book exchange
The Pierce College Book Exchange was initiated by Fort Steilacoom Student Programs staff and student government. A committee of students, faculty and staff reviewed the options to help students exchange books, and decided on phpBookExchange.
We are using phpBookExchange version 1.1b to power the Pierce College Book Exchange. The code was modified to fit our environment and to enhance security by the office of the Web Manager, District College Relations. Additional enhancements to the program are anticipated in future months.
phpBookExchange gets title, author, and cover information from Amazon.com's public Web services.
