Business Certificate

Certificates provide a great way to work in your field of interest before pursuing a degree.

The Business Certificate curriculum offers a broad background in practical business skills. Its variety and flexibility meet the needs of both students preparing for business careers and those already working in the business world who seek to improve their skills. This certificate includes course work in accounting, economics, business law, statistics, English, and computer information systems.

The Business Certificate is designed to prepare students for entry–level positions in careers such as:

  • Business Manager
  • Business Owner

Business Certificate Outcomes

Students who receive the Certificate in Business will be prepared to:

  • Identify different elements that distinguish capitalism, socialism, communism, and mixed economy.
  • Describe the role of competition, government involvement, and culture in a selected country’s economic system.
  • Assess elements of the global economy such as labor, capital, trade, natural resources, etc. and develop an action plan that describes how they will compete in this environment
  • Compare and contrast the functions of production, marketing, human resource, accounting, information, and financial management
  • Analyze workplace scenarios identifying/debating legal, ethical and socially responsible/irresponsible behavior in business
