Meet Ann Johnston-Schuster

Visual Arts Professor/Coordinator
Internationally renowned printmaker

For art teacher and accomplished printmaker Ann Schuster, art is the greatest gift she can give her students.

"(Art) is a very soothing, meditative experience and it's very addictive," she said. "Everyone would want that as a component of their life."

Schuster's own life has been devoted to art since she was a child. She loved drawing and discovered printmaking in college. She has since become an internationally recognized artist and devoted teacher. She is inspired by her students, who she says keep her constantly challenged and energized.

"It's a rare opportunity to introduce people to such a wonderful thing," she said, adding, "I think that's the most rewarding thing, when students say to me, 'Ann, what can I take next?'"
