Meet Patrick Daugherty

Professor of Speech and Drama
Arts and Humanities

To say that Patrick Daugherty is passionate about theater is to commit a gross understatement. Rather, the man lives theater. For proof, you need only track him down right before his latest show. Patrick is energy personified and committed only to spreading the joy of theater to his students and audiences.

Patrick's own love of theater came from an unconventional source.

"It was the same month that Queen released Bohemian Rhapsody, for air Play. I remember standing on the hood of my best friend's Gremlin and singing with Freddie Mercury on the radio," he recalls. "I wonder how many thespians have been inspired to audition for a play because of that particular recording?"

In addition to teaching, Patrick is both an actor and a writer, and he encourages his students to find excitement in all aspects of theater.
