Ken Capron, Mountaineering and Climbing

Ken Capron has been hiking and climbing extensively for more than 15 years. He has successfully summited Mt. Rainier, Mt. Baker, Mt. Adams, Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens and many others including mountains in California and Alaska. In addition to being involved with avalanche training seminars, Ken holds current First Aid and CPR cards. He is dedicated to mountain safety; respect for the environment and insuring that his students learn to safely enjoy what mountain climbing has to offer.

When asked what he loved about teaching the classes included in our "Climb Volcanoes" series, Ken had this to say:

"The passion I have for teaching is fueled by the growth I see in individuals; as they learn techniques and use the skills that I have shared with them. It is a thrill for me to watch one of my students taking that last final exhausting step and safely reach the summit of the mountain we have chosen to climb. At that moment, the normally pained expression on their faces usually turns into a giant smile and makes all the effort worthwhile. I love to share my skills and knowledge of the outdoors with those that are willing to learn."
