Paper Selection: Pad of blank newsprint, a few sheets of watercolor paper and rice paper in approximately 11 x 14 inch size.
Brushes: 3 Sumi brushes sizes 8-10-12 US size (preferred) OR round tip watercolor brushes sizes 8-10-12 US size
Sumi Ink: 1 Bottle (bottles preferred over grinding stone as it saves time in class)
Watercolor Paints: A small student set of Cotman or other brand of watercolors tube or pan in basic colors such as red, yellow, blue, green, sienna or burnt umber.
Palettes or Mixing Saucers: 4 porcelain or plastic saucers or a large plastic palette with areas for color mixing
Paper towels: 1 roll
Water Containers: 2 or 3 small jars or containers

Consider buying "student" quality materials for learning the techniques as professional grade items can be quite costly.
