REGISTER FIVE easy WAYS
Register early or your class might fill or be cancelled if we don't know you are planning to attend. Online or in-person registrations and payments are processed immediately. Mail and fax registrations take longer and are processed as they arrive at the registration office.
CLICK! - Returning Continuing Education students may now register online and pay at www.pierce.ctc.edu/SOS/. To register you’ll need your SID, Registration Access Code number (your date of birth in MMDDYY format), and course item numbers. In order to qualify, you must have registered for a Continuing Education class within the past year.
CALL! - Call our NEW NUMBER (253) 864-3330 between the hours of 9am and 4pm, Monday-Friday to register and pay with a VISA or MasterCard debit or credit card.
MAIL! - Mail your registration form and payment to: Pierce College, Attn: CE Registration, 1601 39th Avenue SE, Puyallup WA 98374-2222. Mail-in registrations (Registration Form PDF) (Registration Form-Word) are accepted up to five working days before the start of a Continuing Education offering. If your mail-in registration cannot be processed you will be contacted.
FAX! - FAX your registration (Registration Form PDF) (Registration Form-Word) and payment (VISA or MasterCard) to our NEW FAX NUMBER (253) 840-8449. COME IN! - Register and pay in person at either campus (Puyallup or Fort Steilacoom) through the start date of the class, workshop, or seminar. REGISTER FOR TWO! - Please be prepared to provide a student identification number (SID), mailing address, day and evening phone numbers, citizenship and residence information, and birth date for the second person.
PAY for your class when you register
Please be prepared to pay when you register. We cannot hold a spot for you in a class without payment. Register early as many classes fill as soon as the bulletin hits the mailboxes.
Credit/Debit Cards: We accept VISA and Mastercards (debit or credit). To charge your registration to your VISA or MasterCard, please provide the full name on the credit card, card # and expiration date (include your signature if registering by mail).
Checks/Money Orders: Make checks and money orders payable to Pierce College for the exact amount). Please include your SID (student ID number) and course item number on your check.
Cash: You may pay the course fee in cash in person at either Pierce College Puyallup or Pierce College Ft. Steilacoom. We do not accept cash at our South Hill Park facility.
Corporate Vouchers/Purchase Orders:If your course fee/tuition is being paid by a company voucher or purchase order, please provide the signed original document when registering.
REFUNDS
Continuing Education refunds* will be given as follows:
- 100% - When a class is cancelled by Continuing Education.
- 100% less $7*- When a student withdraws two (2) business days prior to the first class session.
- 0% - When a student withdraws less than two (2) business days prior to the first class session, after the class begins or does not attend (or stops attending) the course.
*Deposits on some courses (when specified in the description), field study, all travel and trips, clock hours, CEU fees and the $7 registration fee are nonrefundable. There are no refunds for online courses once a username and password have been issued.
Dental Hygiene Expanded Function courses through Continuing Education are subject to more restrictive refund policies. Please contact the Dental Hygiene Program Manager at 253-840-8453 regarding these specific refund policies and deadlines.
Refunds are processed by the registration and cashiering office as quickly as possible. All students entitled to a refund will be issued a check regardless of intial payment method as we do not store debit or credit card information on file. You should receive your refund within two to three weeks from the date of class cancellation.
DEBTS TO THE COLLEGE - If you have an outstanding debt to the college, the college may offset the outstanding debt against any refunds due to you.
CANCELLATIONS AND schedule CHANGES
Register early as many classes fill within a few days. If you wait until the day before the class starts you might find the class full or cancelled because we didn't get enough advance registrations to support the class expenses.When classes are cancelled due to low enrollment, we make every effort to call you so please make sure we have your current phone numbers when you register.
We cancel courses only when absolutely necessary, but we reserve the right to do so, as well as to reschedule courses and change instructors when necessary.
If your course is canceled, you may transfer to another course. If you choose not to transfer, you will automatically receive a full refund within 30 days.
CLOCK HOURS for k-12 teachers and staff
Pierce College Continuing Education is approved by the Superintendent of Public Instruction to provide clock hour certification for K-12 public school instructors. This certification is available for all programs offered in this section. A $20 fee is added to the course fee to offset printing, mailing and recordkeeping costs. Call (253)840-8452 for more information. Participants purchasing Clock Hours and CEUs are encouraged to check with their employing agency if these certifying units will be accepted. Continuing Education does not maintain a listing for each employing agency. Requests for clock hours must be made at time of registration or within the same quarter year in which the class was completed.
CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEU'S)
CEU's are available for Continuing Education classes for a processing fee of $20 per class. One CEU is available for every 10 hours of class attended. CEU's provide a permanent record of the educational accomplishments of an individual who has completed one or more significant, non-credit educational experience. To get CEU's, let registration know when you sign up for a class. For more information (253)840-8452. Requests for CEU's must be made at time of registration or within the same quarter year in which the class was completed.
GIFT CERTIFICATES
Choose a class, seminar or workshop for your someone special, then give us a call to register him or her. We'll send out a personalized gift certificate from you. Call (253)840-8452. Please have the recipient's student identification number, address, birthdate, and phone number ready when you call.
Continuing education classes are designed to meet the learning needs of adult learners (16 and over), unless otherwise designated. We do not provide on-site day care and do not allow unregistered children to attend classes or sit unsupervised in public areas.
