CLASS CANCELLATIONS: Continuing Education programs are totally supported by course
fees; therefore classes must meet minimum enrollments to cover costs
involved. We cancel courses only when absolutely necessary, but we reserve
the right to do so, as well as to reschedule courses and change instructors.
When classes are cancelled due to low enrollment, we will make every
effort to notify you by phone either before the starting date or at
the first class session. Please make sure we have your current day and
evening phone numbers when you register for a class. If your course
is canceled, you may transfer to another course. If you choose not to
transfer, you will automatically receive a full refund within 30 days.
REFUND POLICY: Refunds
of course fees will be given as follows:
- 100% - When a class is cancelled by Continuing
Education.
- 100% less $7*- When a student withdraws two (2)
business days prior to the first class session.
- 0% - When a student withdraws less than two (2)
business days prior to the first class session, after the class begins
or does not attend (or stops attending) the course.
DEBTS TO THE COLLEGE:
If you have an outstanding debt to the college, the college may offset the outstanding debt against any refunds due to you.
*Deposits on some courses (when specified in the
description), field study, all travel and trips, clock hours, CEU fees
and the $7 registration fee are nonrefundable.
CLOCK HOUR CERTIFICATION FOR
K-12 TEACHERS: Pierce College Continuing
Education is approved by the Superintendent of Public Instruction to
provide clock hour certification for K-12 public school instructors.
This certification is available for all programs offered in this section.
A $15 fee ($20 starting August 22, 2006 for Fall Quarter) is added to
the course fee to offset printing, mailing and recordkeeping costs.
Call (253)840-8452 for more information. Participants purchasing Clock
Hours and CEUs are encouraged to check with their employing agency if
these certifying units will be accepted. Continuing Education does not
maintain a listing for each employing agency. Requests for clock hours
must be made at time of registration or within the same quarter year
in which the class was completed.
CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEU): CEU's
are available for Continuing Education classes for a processing fee
of $20 per class. One CEU is available for every 10 hours of class attended.
CEU's provide a permanent record of the educational accomplishments
of an individual who has completed one or more significant, non-credit
educational experience. To get CEU's, let registration know when you
sign up for a class. For more information (253)840-8452. Requests for
CEU's must be made at time of registration or within the same quarter
year in which the class was completed.
