It is with great disappointment that we must announce the cancellation of our PNWDHI courses tentatively scheduled for 2016.
Due to the start of our Bachelor of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene program for entry-level dental hygienists this summer and a change in our academic calendar required by the State Board of Education, we regretfully will not be able to offer any PNWDHI courses in 2016.
We are very sorry for this, but please know we fully intend to offer the courses in 2017, August/September.
At this time, we are not aware of any restorative courses available in the state of WA, but if we hear of any, we will post it on our website immediately. If you have any questions, please feel free to call.
We hope to meet you in the future and look forward to helping you in 2017.
Pierce College's Pacific Northwest Dental Hygiene Institute (PNWDHI) courses are designed to train or increase/review skills for dental hygienists in the administration of local anesthesia, nitrous oxide, and/or restorative dental procedures included in the Dental Hygiene Practice Act for Washington State.
Lab and clinical patient experiences are included in the grounded clinical portion of the courses.
All clinical training is supervised by Washington State licensed dental hygienists and dentists experienced in teaching expanded functions.
Pierce College's Dental Hygiene program is accredited by the American Dental Association's Commission on Dental Accreditation.
The following states and Canadian Providences have approved the respective PNWDHI courses allowed by their practice acts: Washington, Oregon, Arizona, British Columbia, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.
Successful completion of the Local Anesthesia and/or Restorative courses meets eligibility requirements for the Western Regional Examining Board (WREB) examinations.
