Restorative Dentistry

For August 2014, the Restorative Course is full. We will offer our Restorative Course again in August 2015.

This course focuses on increasing proficiency or introducing you to the various aspects of restorative dentistry. Because students are either licensed dental hygienists/dentists or dental hygiene/dentist graduates the condensed course is designed to review prior knowledge and increase your clinical restorative skills.

Instructional methods include online pre-study assignments with the onsite lecture and clinical portion occurring over eight days (approx. 90 hours), and using pre-tests, post- tests, lab feedback and proficiencies, and Mock Board testing. The online pre-study requires no less than 10 hours of independent study.

This course provides a Certificate of Completion for one hundred (100) hours.

Students must purchase their own textbook, readily available at several online sources such including Pearson Education,,, and Barnes &  Textbook cost:  Approximately $55

Access to course materials will be provided via the online system approximately two weeks before the start of the course.

ALL students must furnish their own appropriate lab coat and safety glasses based on OSHA guidelines for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

PPE – lab coat must be long enough to cover street clothes - knees to neck to wrists. Knit cuffs preferred, closed at neck (not open v-neck).

Magnification support is recommended such as very strong magnifying glasses or loupes.
