The Health Education/Wellness program at Pierce College is the study of how the mind, body, and spirit can be developed to enhance and improve health, fitness, and quality of life. Students learn about fitness, nutrition, stress management, disease prevention, spirituality, smoking and substance abuse, and weight control.
Students working toward their transfer degree typically take a variety of courses designed to fulfill the general requirements of most four-year colleges and universities. Students intending to transfer to a four-year college for further training in the health education and wellness fields are encouraged to work closely with their advisor to ensure they meet the requirements of the college they wish to attend after Pierce.
