Music Department - Recording Studios

The studios and the audio production program at Pierce College are equalled by no other college in the Pacific Northwest.

We have three primary studios and two smaller ones, along with a newly upgraded MIDI lab. Each station has the capability of creating complete professional-quality audio projects from pre-production to CD mastering.

All our recording studio layouts and formats were designed to work together so that one might work on one facet of a project in one of the larger recording rooms and then move to another to finish it up. We use Pro Tools and Digital Performer, the two most highly regarded digital audio and sequencing software and hardware formats in the recording industry.

Each studio has a back-up HD for safety and extra memory storage needs, plus CD burners, DAT machines and external signal processors. We have multi-functional professional-grade microphones, including two Nuemann TLM 107s, an AT 4050, two AKG 414s and four AKG 421s.

Studio time is available to Pierce College students and members of the local community.
