Hosted by the Center of Excellence for Homeland Security and the Washington State Centers of Excellence, in partnership with the Washington State Emergency Management Division, Northwest Tribal Emergency Management Council, National Partnership on Environmental Technology Education and our local emergency managers and community colleges. "Pathways to Resilient Communities" will focus on helping communities make preparedness a community effort and way of life. It will feature "hands on" sessions for business and organizations on how to prepare and plan to recover from disasters and provide training and tools to support citizens prepare and work together to build community resilience. Sessions will include discussions on how to utilize social media and social networks as a resource for disaster preparedness and strategies to assist the public and private sector plan for the functional and access needs of special populations during critical incidents.
