Master of Science in Counseling and Student Personnel
Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State
Licensed Professional Counselor in Oklahoma State
National Certified Counselor

This is the place where I get to introduce myself. My name is Deborah and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington State. I began my career at Pierce College in September 2008, after returning to the Pacific Northwest from the state of Oklahoma, where I had been a counselor in the Student Counseling Center at Oklahoma State University (OSU). Prior to OSU, I was at the University of Central Oklahoma; before that, I was a home-based counselor with a not-for-profit agency, also in Oklahoma.

My theoretical orientation is eclectic, that is, I use a variety of theories in trying to meet the needs of my clients. I am particularly interested in attachment theory, developmental psychology, and feminist theory. My main interest and desire is to help students cope with life's difficulties and to learn the necessary skills to keep them focused on their educational and career goals at Pierce.
