Beatriz Schweigert

Beatriz Schweigert

I am currently pursuing a Nursing Degree, with the hope of obtaining a four year degree from (BSN) from PLU or UWT. I am originally from California but I was transferred to Ft Lewis. I made the decision to leave the Army after 8 years of service in order to pursue my goal to become a nurse.

As a mother of 4 I like a variety of activates. Road trips and hiking are at the top of my list.

One thing that helps me be successful in college is to read and ask questions. And Remember... "The only dumb question is the one not asked." and "Have you googled it yet?"

Debra Lapiers

Debra Lapiers

My goal is to become a Dr. of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, specializing in Oncology.

After Pierce College, my desire is to transfer to Bastyr University in Kenmore Washington, where I will study Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

I have only lived in Western Washington for a year although I am originally from Eastern Washington. I moved here from Daegu, South Korea and before that I lived in Florida. I have lived in 6 states, and 2 foreign countries.

I have a passion for sewing and quilting, but I am hoping to learn how to knit this quarter. I find that studying what interests me helps me do better in classes. Even classes that are boring, I find one aspect I think is interesting and focus on it.

Jinshil Yi

Jinshil Yi

Greetings! My name is Jinshil Yi and I look forward to serving the Fort Steilacoom General Chemistry class as an SI leader. Fall 2007 was my first year at Pierce, and the fabulous instructors here have helped me fall in love with the sciences and math. My prayer is to major in a science and then go onto study medicine. I enjoy classical piano, reading anything from dictionaries to toothpaste ingredients, writing, playing table tennis, and spending time with family, friends and at church and yes, studying! I'm also a practicing believer in Thomas Edison's definition of genius: 1% inspiration; 99% perspiration = D

I'll see you at SI!
