Patient and Family Education
The Patient and Family Education department at Western State Hospital teaches basic academic and life skills to patients and helps their families to understand and support them by offering a variety of individual classes and providing educational information to patients and families.

Supported Education
Pierce College Supported Education provides support services to consumers of mental health agencies who wish to pursue formal education at any level. On-going support services are also available to students.
Free, non-credit preparatory classes include:

- Orientation to Campus
- Study Skills for College Success
