Pierce College Financial Aid Orientation

Welcome

Please do not complete this orientation until you have received your initial letter from the Pierce College Financial Aid office. If you have been waiting for more than 4 weeks since submitting your FAFSA online or 6 weeks since submitting it by mail, please check your financial aid status on Student Online Services. If the status shows "missing doc," you may continue with the orientation.

We understand that financial aid can be a complicated process. The purpose of this "orientation" is to explain this process and to help you understand what it means when you accept financial aid.

It is our responsibility to inform you of the conditions and requirements of accepting financial aid. It is your responsibility to understand these conditions and requirements.

To meet the requirement of attending this class, you must read through every screen. You will be asked questions highlighting important information. At the end of the orientation, you will be asked for your name and your Student ID number. These will be forwarded to our office as proof of completion for this financial orientation.

There will be five parts to this class covering the following topics:

  1. Types of Financial Aid
  2. Conditions of Your Financial Aid Award
  3. Receiving your Financial Aid
  4. Your Rights and Responsibilities
  5. Satisfactory Academic Progress

You must answer a minimum number of questions correctly. If you have not reached this minimum at the end of the orientation, you will be directed to start over.
