Internships

How do I get an internship?

If you are working towards an Associate of Arts degree, you may take Cooperative Education/Work-Based Learning Experience for general elective credit.

Depending on the amount of hours worked, you may earn 1-8 credits (COOP 150-153) within a quarter for working within your chosen field, either paid or unpaid. You must take a one-credit online seminar course (COOP 160-163) with the work-based learning experience.

Students normally find work sites on their own, but some referrals are available. To register for these courses, you must first see the Cooperative Education coordinator.

If you are enrolled in a Professional/Technical degree program, you are required to complete a work-based learning experience course designed for your specific program. Cooperative Education courses (COOP 150-153) do NOT apply toward this requirement.

Check with your Professional/Technical program coordinator for referrals to secure an internship in your major.
