Pierce College Foundation builds relationships with the community and acquires resources to support academic excellence and educational access at Pierce College.
A non-profit organization, the Foundation exists to help the students of Pierce College. The Foundation pursues private donations to fill the gap between public funding and student need.
Pierce College Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) organization and 100% of the money it raises directly benefits Pierce College.
The Foundation is a bridge between the College and the community. It approaches private citizens,
businesses and foundations to donate funds on behalf of Pierce's students. It also helps the College
undertake special projects that are beyond the scope of its operating budget.
Stanley Flemming, 1997 Pierce College Distinguished Alumni and 2008 Outstanding Alumni Award recipient for the American Association of Community Colleges, has been in more than a few places and done more than a few things.
The osteopathic physician and surgeon helped found the city of University Place, traveled the world as a decorated officer in the U.S. Army, served the state of Washington as its first elected Native American state legislator, conducted ground-breaking AIDS research and was a candidate to be surgeon general of the United States - to list just a few of his accomplishments.
