How do I receive my scores?
You can obtain your scores two different ways.
- Call the Fort Steilacoom or the Puyallup Testing Center to obtain a “pass/fail” score. Actual scores cannot be given over the telephone.
- To obtain your actual scores, you can go to either campus testing center and receive a written score report. Photo identification is required.
With the exception of the writing scores, scores are available the following working day after you have tested. Writing scores are available 9-10 days after you've tested. Your scores cannot be released to anyone else without your written consent. Please see the Testing Center staff for more information about releasing scores.
What score do I need to pass and/or earn my GED?
You must receive a minimum of 410 points on each test to pass each individual test. In order to earn your GED, you must have an average score of 450 points or higher for a cumulative score of 2250 points.
What if I don't pass an individual subject test?
If you do not pass an individual subject test, you can retest in that subject. At this time, you have three (3) opportunities to pass each subject per calendar year. You must pay an additional $15 per test for retesting. Payment must be verified prior to scheduling a retesting appointment.
What happens when I have completed and passed all five subjects?
When you have successfully completed and passed all five subjects with a minimum score of 2250, a certificate of completion is ordered for you by the Testing Center. Within two to three weeks you will receive a transcript along with a diploma. If you need an official transcript sooner, you can receive one through the Fort Steilacoom campus Testing Center only.
What If I have a disability and need special accommodations?
If you have a disability that can be documented by a qualified professional, request the appropriate form from the testing center. Return the completed form with documentation of your disability to either center. Special accommodations for GED testing cannot be approved by the campus Disability Support Services (DSS).
